I had the privilege of photographing Binibining Pilipinas 2019 candidate Francia Papa Layderos. Not only is she a beautiful and talented young woman, but she also has a truly inspiring story.
Francia is from the small town of Libon, Albay, where she grew up surrounded by the lush green fields of her family’s farm. From a young age, she learned the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance from her parents and grandparents, who were farmers. She would often help them on the farm, and it was there that she developed her love for nature and her town’s agriculture.
Despite the challenges of growing up in a small town, Francia never let that hold her back. She always dreamed of making a difference, not only in her hometown but also in the whole country. She would often think of ways to help her fellow farmers and improve their livelihoods.
As a candidate for Binibining Pilipinas 2019, she used her platform to advocate for agricultural funding and the rights of Filipino farmers. By sharing her story, she aspires to improve other farmers’ lives and the Philippines’ future.
It was indeed an honor to photograph Francia and hear her story. She is a beautiful woman and a strong, determined, and compassionate person who wants to make a positive change in the world.
